Industry Veteran to Lead Technology Strategy and Engineering Across Command Alkon’s Full Product and Platform Portfolio
Command Alkon, the leading software and solutions provider for the heavy building materials industry, recently announced the appointment of Tim Oakes as Chief Technology Officer (CTO). In this role, Oakes will lead technology strategy and engineering at Command Alkon, helping shape product and platform direction across the business.
Oakes joined Command Alkon in 2025 through the company’s acquisition of Digital Fleet, where he had served as President and CEO. He initially stepped into the role of Senior Vice President, Global Fleet Strategy at Command Alkon, overseeing the company’s combined fleet management portfolio and driving the strategic development of integrated fleet technologies for heavy building materials producers worldwide. His move into the CTO role expands his scope across Command Alkon’s broader technology and engineering organization.
“Tim has already proven what he can do for our customers and our teams,” said Martin Willoughby, Chief Executive Officer at Command Alkon. “Since joining us, he’s brought clarity and momentum to our technology strategy, and his ability to align engineering execution with long-term product vision makes him exactly the right leader to guide our technology organization into its next chapter.”
At Digital Fleet, Oakes played a central role in rebuilding the company from the ground up — shaping its strategy, team culture, and product vision while delivering solutions designed to improve operational performance and logistics efficiency for the construction materials industries.
“Command Alkon has an incredible opportunity to define the future of technology for the heavy building materials industry,” said Tim Oakes, Chief Technology Officer at Command Alkon. “I’m excited to build on the momentum we’ve created and bring that same focus on strong engineering, clear product vision, and real customer outcomes to our technology organization as a whole.”
Oakes brings deep expertise in software engineering, technical product management, and technology leadership, with prior experience at organizations including Groupon and Orbitz. He was recently named a recipient of Supply & Demand Chain Executive’s 2026 Pros to Know Award in recognition of his leadership in the industry.
